The Historybank is a intergenerational project, with a focus of establishing links across the generations and enabling individuals to develop confidence, esteem and practical skills in a range of creative media.

In particular we work with men with histories of overcoming challenges, such as dealing with conflict. Participants range from ex-servicemen to former prisoners to gang members or those who have overcome drug or alcohol dependency.

Using creative writing, music production, film and photography, individuals develop their own personal Historybank – a journal that documents their personal thoughts, opinions and feelings.

We collect and collate each personal journal to form a collective memoir, The Historybank. Each persons work is then uploaded to a Historybank website - giving us a permanent, easily accessible archive of the views and opinions of both the individuals and the group as a whole.
