Studio 3 Arts Pit Party: Meat Raffle

A working-class cabaret

 17 – 18 March 2018

The Barbican Centre, The Pit

Two nights of electric entertainment recreate the live buzz, subversive energy and community spirit of working-class clubs, providing the perfect antidote to a hard week of graft.

To the sound of a karaoke machine, the sparkle of a glitter ball, you’ll enter an informal and intimate space. Whether it’s a men’s choir or award-winning comedian, burlesque maverick or spoken word poet, our eclectic acts are here to tell their stories of protest and triumph. Be ready to get your eyes down for the bingo, put your hands in your pocket for the meat raffle (with proceeds going to the Barking Foodbank), make sure you have a drink in hand, and let the party start.

Based in Barking and Dagenham, Studio 3 Arts make outstanding art that is accessible, exciting and transformative. Paying tribute to the halls, hubs and clubs that have long been at the heart of communities from Dundee to Dagenham, they’re bringing together a host of authentic voices from London and beyond for this engaging weekend applauding a grand and expressive tradition of the working-class.

Age guidance 14+

Special £5 Tickets available for Barking and Dagenham residents only.  email hello@studio3arts.org.uk for discount code.
